I liked the part where they join together :) That's cute af
The characters and level art style is really cool, I also really like the title art.
The jump feels pretty good but I'd suggest adding coyote time to the game. by setting a small timer whenever the character leaves a ledge. If the player jumps before that timer runs out the jump should count as if they were grounded.
Nonetheless, I think you got a cool mechanic!
