It's very nice, the visuals are impressive, the never ending canvas also. What bugged me was the annoying, unpredictable AI in combination with unfavorable hitboxes. I was also a little disappointed that there's no actual random level generation, I wanted to see how someone else approached a "roguelike in which you can't die", but I'm the only one as I've seen so far.
Great job making this happen!

Thanks! We considered an implementation of "roguelike where you can't die" that would have been more like yours (invincible protagonist with OP powers), before eventually settling on the "rewind to find something to save yourself" mechanic that we ended up building.

We unfortunately didn't pace ourselves super well, and didn't have time to tweak the AI or hitboxes much. The AI on the "final" boss is actually supposed to be impossible/unfair to force the player into the central mechanic of the game, but we would definitely have tweaked it too if we had more time. Random level generation was also on the to-do list, but we figured we would start with a proof-of-concept using a handful of manually designed levels that were definitely beatable.

I think this is a game that really needs to be ready to work, because this is a very strong concept, with some decent design around it this could be big.

Even when I return to the boss with the item from the chest, it doesn't give me the ability to defeat the boss.

Yeah, sorry, we ran out of time at the end, so the game isn't actually possible to finish at the moment. You can't die though!

Really cool idea! I hope you can expand on it more in the future :)

Thanks! We do too :)

Correct build (which was actually done before the deadline but I'm and idiot and picked the wrong file) itch link here:
