  • this game is flippin adorable!! awww i love it so much! im so glad you fleshed out the levels bc i like what you did so much! critique: im glad you have variable jump height, but i dont like that its a golf mechanic. usually in 2d platformers, you assume the player is going to jump to the full height when they hold space bar until they let go of the space bar, then you have them stop moving up. its pretty standard and feels nice. the problem with the golf jump in a platformer game is timing. like how are you supposed to jump onto the moving platform with a precise jump if you cant control when youre going to get the height of jump that you need? the golf jump adds a bit of randomness to the game that feels bad in a 2d platformer. replace it with variable jump height, thatll be much more enjoyable. the tongue grapple mechanic is really cool! i like what you did with that, and it fits very well with the character bc hes a frog. i really like that! the skateboard thing looked cool but felt like it was tacked on extra. it didnt seem to be a core part of the game play at all, especially since you cant jump while on the skateboard, *in a platformer*. tbh, i think you should either (A) remove the skateboard, (B) lean into it a bit more to make it a core part of gameplay (and allow jumping while on it), or (C) make it a cosmetic fun thing that has no mechanical bearing on the game (just a stylized "run" animation) the levels were pretty cool, but they could use some more polish. several sections felt like empty wastelands of nothingness. they could use some scenery, some more background elements. the houses were really cool! i love your art style! and the characters are just adorable, makes me fall in love with the game with just a screenshot overall id say this is one of my top 3 fav games this jam. well done!
  • A delightfully cute game in the most dangerous animal neighborhood I've ever seen. It took me a few tries (and checking the game page) to figure out how to grapple and skateboard, so I'd recommend adding more of a tutorial to the game. Also, there seemed to be a collision missing on a platform after getting the protein powder, so I wasn't able to get any further. Still, stellar work! Absolutely adorable!
  • Nice game end excellent animations on the skate boarding. The controls on the skateboard felt good, but the jumping, moving, and grapling felt like they needed to be tighter.

This game is really cute, I love the art and animations and I think the mechanics were neat!

I really liked the idea of golf swing power jumping, and I think it was really fun, but often times the camera would move out of frame of the platforms as a result, so you can't really see where you're going to land... (which is brutal for a game with insta deaths). Still fun though lol.

The skateboard mechanic was pretty fun, but I think the realistic foot pumping made it feel a little jarring since you constantly speed up and slow down. It might be neat if the player had more control of the board, like maybe accelerating the board with by pressing a key to put their foot down every time they want to pump to build up speed and then riding out the acceleration?? Just a random thoughttt

I also really appreciate the controls indicator when you are in front of something interactable, and the frequent checkpoints. (Why can't frog swim T-T ) Even little touches of quality of life like that go a long way in a jam I think!

Sadly I had to give up... A bit after the checkpoint with the house with the mouse and the rabbit with the no skateboard sign... There's that platform you just fall through? I can't grapple onto it or skate on it so I don't really understand if it's a bug or what... I died about a dozen times and ran out of ideas.

Besides that the only bugs I noticed were that the options button does nothing and when you game over you have to hit continue twice.

Overall fun game, y'all did great!

The Linux build works great for me.

This is really cute. Jumping feels weird, but not bad weird, it feels just like being a frog.
