Oh god, the time is flying, one day remains before the end of the jam. Hopefully I submitted my game early, check it out if you would like Brigh Darkness.
If you haven't submitted yet, you have to rush. No, really you have to rush!
I know that one day and some hours might appear like lots of time, but believe me, it is not. So make sure that your game is finished and let the details as secondary.
Stop the development process at least 6 hours before the end of the jam, because there are a lot of things to do besides finishing your game.
- Playtesting your game.
- Exporting your game: you might encounter errors and problems while exporting your project.
- Uploading your game to itch io: it might be an eazy step, but sometimes you can have problems especially if you have weak internet speed
- Drawing the game cover and banner: It is important to take your time making it, it can judge either people gonna play your game or not.
- Writing a good description and information about your game.
- Mention of the resources of assets you have used
- Changing the look of the game page
- Taking screenshots from your game
- Maybe also taking video record for your game
- Don't forget also sleeping! You don't know when you feel sleepy :)
All these operations cost a lot of time, it took from me about 8 hours to do all this until I submitted Bright Darkness!
I hope this is useful for someone, and I assure you that the feeling of being left after not submitting and missing the deadline is not that good :)
