Cute game! i think the scaling could be a littler different since the ground/dirt area is huge for seemingly no reason. I agree with everyone else in the comments about the controls being a little counter intuitive. Also, when I purchased items, I didn't realize it was registering, so I would be buying a bunch of things without noticing. I found out you can press space to autofire...but then I forgot I had limited ammo hahaha. I enjoyed playing this! Congrats on the submission! :- )

Thanks for the review. Yes,  the autofire can be nice and a pain in the ... And yes, there is a bit to much dirt. I will keep that in mind with a "spin-off" I started to make.  Also plan to make that one controllable by  gamepad.

This is a cool shooter game! The art and music work well together. I had some trouble with the controls, as my brain really wanted to use only my left hand for everything, even though I don't have the dexterity to play one-handed.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, it is a crime to let everyone play with there left hand only... Well, to be honest, I had some problems with the controls myself. Well, i start to consider to put some more effort in this project after the jam. What controls would you suggest?

Well, I grew up playing first person shooters, so my muscle memory tells me that shooting should be done with the mouse. Perhaps you can experiment with aiming and shooting with the mouse? That way the player can also shoot in different directions, not just forward.

Ah, yes, I see. I understand your point, but I maybe gonna disappoint you. I was a bit inspired by some memories of old gameboy games, in which you only good shoot in one direction and had to aim by timing your jumps. So, I'm not ready to change that concept.

Good job on the submission! Had to read your comment to know that 'e' to throw grenades. Overall a solid action shooter game.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, shame on me. Well, nice you had a good time.

Congrats on your submission!  I had a lot of trouble getting my mind to understand that shift was space.  I paid for 3 ammo upgrades, got the first 2 enemy spawners but couldn't get to the 3rd one.  I wasn't sure if I could just jump past the enemies or if I needed to stop them from getting past me, so I wasted my ammo trying to stop them.  There was an option to buy grenades but I didn't know how to throw them.  After dying and retrying a couple of times, the music stopped playing.  I'm not sure what engine you used, I used Godot, in Godot you have to double click on the music file and enable loop, otherwise it only plays through one time and stops.

Thanks for your honest review.  To be honest, I wrote the instructions after a weekend enjoying a summer folk festival. Its 'e' to throw a granade. Thanks for playing. And sorry for the sloppy work. Hope I didn't waste to much of your time.

No apologies necessary!  I might try it again if time permits after work.
