this is cool! :) great visual design too.

I enjoy casual games like this. in fact, I think I might actually learn how to use the keyboard without looking now :P

I agree with having some sort of incentive to play longer. It doesn't have to be ranking up difficulty, combo meters, or points. Could be something like different firework types / trails / paths after awhile, different backgrounds, etc.

I did notice that after I tried to make all 4 fireworks explode at once in one action, now only 3 letters show up and the 4th firework can never be sploded.

Points? To track progres
Any losing condition? To make you feel that thrill
Make it faster over time? (more points => more speed)
And maby more than 4 letters? :p
*just want to make your game better*

No problem, I appreciate feedback!

I did consider those kinds of systems but I opted to go for something a little more relaxing rather than an action game! Something that my parents could play in order to help their skills. The idea behind there being no end condition is that hopefully the player will continue until they feel they're making progress. Keeping the scope for systems small also helped me throw this together in just a few days.  :)

If excitement is what you're after I have worked on something that may be more up your alley! It also has no end condition but it does ramp up in speed and it does have a scoring system - increases with time! Unfortunately only a Windows build was submitted for that jam but if you're on another platform I may be able to hunt down the project files.  https://globalgamejam.org/2017/games/monkey-way

Thank you for letting me know.

Had a quick Google, according to this there may be something else I needed to provide for Windows.
