This is my first Jam here on Itch.io so i am quite excited :)

My entry, Bat Fishing is a fishing game inspired by bears fishing on streams. the player fish through hitting fish out of the river, basketball style.

The fish speed and swimming curve gradually increase as you successfully hit fishes. there will also be animals that, like the bear in the gif, compete with you for the fish that swim through the river, or others which will try and steal your caught fishes.

Are you planning a way for the player to interact with the animals stealing fish? I like the look of the batting.

Yeah, you need to hit the bear with a fish to chase it away.

I started playing around with randomly generated fish, because what the hell.

It gives a little graphical variation, and one of the reason i am doing this jam is to learn and evolve, so even a rather "fluff mechanic" like those randomly generated fish is something i deem important in this Jam.

Still need to add some texture variations and maybe different shaped fins and heads..
