Really impressive! I thought its just gonna be a simple taxi game, but new stuff kept popping up xD
I restarted pretty early into the first run because I had like -70 money REAL quick, my second run it just completely froze when I delivered the food quest (I didnt alt tab or have another active window like you warned), and my third run went a lot better but I was thinking you just cant cross between the red buoys so I got too close to one and lost my license and then my money started to spiral downward haha I think its actually like thicker trigger boxes on the inside parts between the buoys am guessing? Am glad being in debt didnt mean losing hehe
I didn't understand so much what was going on with the story and the crow, but it was interesting change in the gameplay still, and the ghost part was AWESOME
I'm glad you enjoyed it, despite the problems.
I really value your feedback. I do tend to underestimate that it may take a while for a player to get a feel for the mechanics, and its not good to introduce all the hazards at once.
The red buoys actually don't do anything at all, if you are wondering. The station itself has a "restricted belt", but being near green buoy protects you from it :)
This was super ambitious, very nice work! Some things I liked:
The subtle animation boil on the player's ship was cute
Voice acting
Lots of different missions to complete
Crossing stuff off the list was fun
I did find the red/green buoys to be a bit annoying to have to deal with, and I didn't understand quite where their areas of effect were at first. Also going into debt before you really know what you're doing was also frustrating, I would suggest giving the player some time to get the hang of the gameplay loop before implementing some of the penalties like red zones and the debt collection.
Overall very nice work!
Thanks for the feedback, and the suggestions. I'm glad you found it nice!
This was really neat actually, and surprisingly ambitious for a one week jam.
The neat visual style, the roaming AI ships (that kept getting in my goddamn way), the repeatable customers, upgrades, interactable inventory, voice acting, cutscenes, and debt. It's a stunning amount of details tbh.
I will say I was worried at first that going into debt would end the game, which made the restricted areas and dinging objects annoying. Though once I discovered I could keep going I started enjoying it again.
Overall, great work!
Thanks for the post! Really warmed my heart.
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
