I've now realized how inexperienced at more complex games like this... I managed to get two trinkets, several amulets, and a couple of eyestones, but I wasn't able to figure out how to use them. I might have to come back to this one and explore more carefully.
I tried again with a little more knowledge and patience... very fun! I got 10/30 and had a great time doing magic things. If anyone else is as clueless as me going into this (spoilers now) I recommend starting with the olivine eyestone and finding animals... I can't remember where I found things, but examine everything and explore lots.
