  • Fun/Design - You came up with a unique core mechanic, though it doesn't beg me to come back and play. Technical Implementation - Multiple things on the technical/interface side made this game less pleasant to play than it should be. For instance, the character in the tutorial sometimes speaks at his own pace, and sometimes speaks at the player's pace. That was somewhat confusing. Additionally, the controls were disappointing to me. J+K alongside the arrow keys is uncomfortable - I would rather not use J+K or use WASD alongside them. Having to press M and then R to restart is a pain, especially when my hand is already trying its best to stay on J and K. On the plus side, controlling the hummingbird felt pretty good, especially with the dash. Music/Sound - Music is average. It doesn't stand out in a jarring, horrible way nor an awesome, great way. Unoriginal assets were used, so a point is deducted. Graphics/Animation - The graphics tie together throughout the entire game, and they suit the atmosphere that you were trying to create. Theme/Limitation - Both the theme and the limitation were clearly represented and were entwined with the game's mechanics and "story" of the hummingbird needing food.

The game itself is very fun to play. I like a tutorial in game, a unique brown/dark blue color palette and this relaxing music while you struggle to find food on time. I enjoyed playing it.

However, I feel controls are bad. It feels unintuitive. The better option would be introduction of Z and X keys as an alternative.
