Looking for UI Help

Hello this is going to be my first time making a game for a gamejam, I've been thinking a lot about what to make and finally settled on making a dress up game with my OC Andrew who is a big fan of fashion (like me lol) and will info dump about each item you put on him as they are based on real life fashion clothing (i have so many brands i want to showcase ahh) but i'm having trouble with making the ui still look like a classic dress up game while adding that fun little info tab (was also thinking of making it a dialogue box with a character that isn't Andrew but i'm unsure ???) Any help would be appreciated ! I'm using Godot ^^

Also I'm just looking for advice with placement and clarity, I'm not looking for a team member ^^'

Hi! I love UI. To me, the best way to do this is by having an image/preview of the items in each tab. The style of the border will also matter though it is hard to tell. If you want it to be text only without an image, I think having the tabs be much smaller and at the top with a tab you start out on (in this case the makeup tab) would be best to avoid the large amount of empty space!

Thank you ! Yeah I was planning for the items to open categories in the same window where the other buttons would disappear and would leave place to the item previews but I get how that wasn't conveyed clearly ^^, i'll make sure to not leave too much negative space too thanks a lot :D
