I couldn't figure out how to place the dominos at first. I thought the dominos just randomly got moved on the board, and didn't know that the move position relative to the domino moved it. I also didn't know how to knock them over without having to overlap later ones perpendicular to each other.

I was able to beat one of the monsters though. With a bit more detailed instructions, I think it would be more fun.

Good timing I just uploaded a playthrough and added it to the instructions on the game page. Thanks for playing!

I see where the vision was, one issue I had was that the keybinds expected certain letters, using a non-standard keyboard layout results in incorrect inputs whereas scancodes will read correct always. Besides that, I saw the idea but it was extremely confusing, and mouse movement feels very unintuitive.

Developer

hmm, I'll keep that in mind and yeah the camera should have been done with mouse input instead of edge scrolling. Thanks for playing though!

Cool idea, however I was completely lost for a good bit.  While you do have a "what to press instructions" on the fight screen, you're missing the "how to play" part, even just a description on the game page would be good enough for a jam, as not everyone has time to make a full tutorial in-game.  That said, a very unique idea, even if I couldn't get the dominoes to "domino" that right way, I just dropped them on his head! Nice idea and awesome voice acting!

I also played this on stream, in case you wanna see: VOD timestamp for your game. ^_^

Developer

Hmm, I see. When I had my friends play test it they got it so it seemed the instructions in game were enough (maybe we just think alike lol), but I'll add a more thorough explanation on how to play on the game page. Thanks for playing!

No worries, I edited my original comment with the VOD of me playing, in case that helps demonstrate my though process as I tried to figure out what to do.  I'll echo another comment here, that the mouse control felt a bit odd for me as well.

Developer

I watched it and I was in pain watching LOL you were so close to getting it but yeah I think I see why people can get confused, I should have explained in game that the first domino you place is the one that gets pushed and starts the chain reaction to hit the enemy at the end with the combined damage. Also even after you beat the smolem you got the quest bug, so double pain. Anyway, definitely the camera was not good, it was the first thing I coded and the gameplay quickly evolved past it and never had time to go back to fix it. Thanks for the feedback!
