As far as I can tell, we begin once that timer on the overview page is up. It would certainly make me want to wake up at one and stay up all morning, pounding on my keyboard if we could begin once day arrives.
It depends on what you mean by begin. Creating a new project, making some tea, grabbing the notebook and starting up the programs needed in advance is allowed afaik.
