Lovely game, love the writing, characters and art. Music was fun, I just wish it matched with the rhythm gameplay, but it didn't ruin the gameplay, was still enjoyable. Great job!

This was a lot of fun, I really like rhythm games. The notes didn't always quite line up. But I really appreciate all the original music, they sound great. And the story was really creative and charming. Nice job!
Absolutely the story and atmosphere you created with the cat bar! Was not expecting the types of characters to show up after the first song. I saw you were constrained by time but I think getting the key inputs to match up with the song would really solidify the rhythm game feel!
I love the idea of a rhythm game! The songs that you've made for it aren't half bad. I'm actually a big fan of rhythm games, so it was nice to see. There were a few things I did have a little bit of a problem with, however...
The sound effects for characters talking tended to be a little bit on the grating side. I didn't want them to finish their sentences, because their sound effects in talking were a bit grating for random pitches.
Another thing is, I'm not sure if my game was lagging at all, but when I was playing, the notes didn't really correlate to what the music was playing. I'd be down with either more difficulty by matching it closer to what the cat was playing, or choosing the main notes to hit that would simplify it, as it didn't really feel like the notes were too much on time, or relevent to what was actually happening to the music. The last song ended up having a few extra notes at the end when the song finished, so that's why I was assuming lag had a little bit to do with this.
I would like to restate this, I love this idea, and I think a little bit more touching up would honestly be one of my favorite games in the game jam.
Love to see a rhythm game at a game jam, it's always great to see what others bring to the genre. I like that the story progression is tied to the player's ability and the dialogue changes according to how well you did, and I liked the cats playing in the bg and how wacky the story is. Really sets the mood.
The only issue I have is that I feel that the mapping wasn't really accommodating and it was difficult. There were times were a circle was partially on the bar and the note didn't register. Also the game immediately goes from 2 keys ->3 keys and while the 2 key map is pretty easy to play and master, the issue with three keys is that there's a lot in the UI to consider as a player and a lot of the songs have several rows of notes strung together that doesn't give the player time to respond. While it's true a lot of rhythm games do this, it's usually on the harder difficulties and I've barely gotten into the game before I'm hit with that level of difficulty.
