How does the game fit the theme?
Intention was to have dialogue pop up between the characters as the game went on, "nothing could go wrong" if you perform well, but everything could go wrong if you don't.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Music, heartbeat sound, HP bar (excluding heart animation next to HP bar) assets are stock.
How many people worked on the game?5

Really nice art! Though i could not manage to survive longer than a few seconds. The difficulty is way to high and there is little to none progression. If you guys tweak it a little bit and add the mentioned dialogue, this game could be really sweet!!
That's understandable! The build is unfinished and the bullet patterns weren't tweaked properly in this build, so it seems impossible. There's no win condition anyway, so even if you somehow managed to survive, nothing would come of it.
And thanks! We hope to get back to it! 💙
I love the art style y'all got going on! Y'awls thumbnail caught my attention and had to give it a try.
As others would say, it would be cool to see dialogue, or some sort of progression system for dealing with them bullets. Also, are you able to move? Either way, I thought not moving would be a deterrent for myself, but it would be cool to see how you'd develop the game and give tools to the player to deal with not moving (e.g., defense towers, barriers, etc.).
Either way, neat lil' game and keep it up!

Apologies for the late response, but thank ya!
Yeah we hope to get back to this in the future, include the dialogue, tweak the bullet patterns so it doesn't feel impossible (it has no win condition in this build anyway).
Anyway, no, there's no moving aside from rotating with the mouse, since it's supposed to represent the character's heart, so it's placed over where his heart would be! We intended to have powerups that would be able to shoot multiple shots, and shots behind you as well, and also shields, but they didn't make it into the build submitted unfortunately.
Thank you again!
Too challenging, bullets come way to fast to stop them
It is an unfinished build, the bullet patterns were not tweaked properly in this version.
I know it isn't finished, but if you ever plan on working on it again, would like to have some sort of gameplay progression (e.g. dialogues give certain buffs / debuffs to the character, something like that)
I like the idea and premise of the game, quite an interesting take on the theme and the gameplay aesthetic has potential.
Thank you! We did intend to include powerups that would drop from enemies, but due to snags our programmers hit at the last minute before the deadline, we had to submit this build from before they were implemented. We hopefully will get back to this in the future and make it better!
I couldn't get past 30 seconds or less. Maybe I'm just bad but I'd love to play more once it's finished!
No, that's not your fault at all! This is an incomplete build of the game. There's no win condition in this build, so even if you manage to survive, nothing would happen after that.
But thank you, we hope to get back to this in the future and make it even better!
I really like the premise of the game, but I couldn't get far enough to figure out more ;-; I think if you eventually want to incorporate dialogue, you may need to scale back the difficulty to let players get through the story. Solid foundation though!
Thank you! Unfortunately, there's not much more to this build of the game. I think the bullet patterns are mostly untweaked in this build and the game won't progress further even if you manage to survive. Our programmers ran into snags with compiling a more complete build of the game before the deadline, so we had to submit this instead. :(
We hope we can come back to this and make it even better!
I liked the animation of a heart that's in the middle. Its pretty smooth
Thank you! 🥰
