Good platformer, but It would be great if you lower the gravity (the "g" component) so that jumping would be smoother. It s good for your first game-jam!

Developer

Thx for the feedback👍

Good platformer, at first i was just thinking that it was a basic platformer until my screen go red and full of distortion ! Also the movement are a little too float.

Developer

It was my intention, to start with a simple platformer and make the player think that "nothing can go wrong".

You're right, the movement is not perfect, I did my best to improve it.

Thx for playing it :)

Very good platformer, loved the mixing of style in the art, good atmosphere, well done :)

Developer

Thank you so much :)

I loved your game

Developer

Thanks, glad you liked it😁

Very good for a first jam! It's my first too :)

I would say maybe the movement feels a bit akward, with some velocity clamping and drag it would probably be easier to control.

Developer

Yeah you are right, I'll definitely work on it👍

Anyway I played and rated your game too, it's so cute :)

Thanks!!

Well done on your first jam! The movement felt quite awkward. Some said sluggish; I agree with that. Also, the twist part makes sense but it could’ve used a slower build-up perhaps.

It’s a fun take on the theme though, very innovative. Good job :D

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I originally wanted to add some more levels and ideas that would probably help with the Buildup too, but I had to cut back to make it upload on time XD

Glad you liked it :)

Fair enough, time is an issue most of the time haha

I love the art and audio! My favorite character is the frog ninja guy lol.  However I did feel sluggish with the way the player was moving.

Developer

Glad you like it, and thanks for the feedback :)

Really cute graphics, tho the movement sometimes feel a little bit awkward. That's a nice way to start your first gamejam, i loved it!

Developer

Glad you liked it :)

Cool and cute game... I would have liked if the creepy parts of the game would have been explained better.

Developer(+1)

Yeah I got it, I actually had many other ideas in my head of things I wanted to add, but in such a short time I had to keep things simple. I'll think about it in the future👍

A nice game, but boy oh boy, do I not like those sounds... (So good job!)

Getting to the end in the last stage was quite tough, but I liked the challenge!

(I half in half expected to be executed right before I got the trophy XD)

Very well done for your first, game jam, so please just take the following comment as constructive feedback!

(I am bad at making my criticizing feedback not sound mean)

I felt that the controls are a bit difficult to control, personally I would have adjust them to be more snappy.
This would make precision platforming easier, which in turn enables you to create harder platforming challenges.

I assume you are just starting game development, and good movement is a very difficult thing to achieve, however I would advise you to check out "Platformer toolkit" if you haven't already. As it gives an opportunity to play with how you want your controls to feel. (https://gmtk.itch.io/platformer-toolkit)

Developer

Thank you sooo much for the feedback and don't worry, it's just a good thing to get as much constructive feedback as possible in order to improve 🙂

And thanks for recommending this toolkit too, I personally didn't know it but now I will definitely practice with this to get some inspiration👍

Love it ! Simple, cool, and for me, it fits perfectly with the game. I love the design contrast between the monster and the little cute character. The red screen is also very nice, and the sound freaked me out great job !

I don't know if it's a bug but you can jump on the walls, and also what is this speed, it's crazy, but i this it's cool to have it, it add something to the game.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you like it :) And yes, I liked the idea of creating an aesthetic contrast with the enemies too, it adds that extra creepy touch XD.

I had some problems with the colliders at first, in fact I fixed a wallstack problem but I recognize that I can still improve it.

In fact, it's not a big deal. I didn't mention it in my review, but I think there are no sound effects when you jump on the enemies' heads. That could be a great addition. Also, like the song, the more you progress through the levels, the creepier it gets.

Developer

There is actually a sound effect for when you jump on the enemy's head, it's probably just a bit lower than the music XD.

Anyway it's a nice idea to make it different based on the progression, thanks for the tip :)

Reminded me alot of these creepy pasta games, like Sonic.exe

Got a nice little scare out of me, well done :)

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it😁

Hey, good work on making a platformer I know that's always hard. It feels like there's a lot of issues of wall hugging and getting stuck.

The Spooky is really hard on the eyes in level 3 and that's where I stopped.

I hope that you keep on working on refining it and working on your skills. Great work releasing a game!

Developer

Hi thanks for the feedback. You are right, I also realized the problems regarding the wall stuck, at first I didn't know exactly how to fix it but maybe now I think I fixed it👍

Very cool and genuinely creepy, i will say movement was very floaty but it does what it was supposed to. Good graphics, audio and simple level design. Good job

8.5/10 :)

Developer

Thx, glad you like it😁

The jump had me moving haha! I liked the effect when you jumped on the boxes stuff with people

Developer

Glad you liked it, it was fun experimenting with these post processing effects XD

Submitted(+1)

The character is hard to control, especially when jumping—it can go ridiculously fast. Still, the style is really cool, it's visually pleasing, and the music fits well with the graphics.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and you're totally right, I modified the jump controls to make it a bit more controllable

Submitted(+1)

some very cool moments of forshadowing, enjoyed the visual glitches, but the jump was very weird, the character can accelerate to crazy speeds while jumping, i flew of the end of the first level!

Developer(+1)

Thx for the feedback, i updated the jump controls to make it a bit more controllable. Glad you liked the visual effects, it was fun to make them XD
