How does your game fit the theme?
The game starts with you controlling a scientist, casually collecting minerals at the top of an active volcano. After some time gathering minerals, the ground begins to shake, and the volcano erupts! Your only option is to run down the volcano, to escape in your van waiting below.
The calm is collecting minerals, the storm is the eruption and escape!
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code, but acquired most of the assets from the Unity Asset Store, or online.

This game looks and sounds great! I really like the subtle sounds on the footsteps, landing after a jump, and mineral pickup. I also very much like that when you get close enough to a mineral it flies to the character making it nice and easy to collect. I liked the eruption as well, when it happened I spent a good amount of time looking back at it as I ran.
The one piece of feedback I have is that the mouse sensitivity on the camera *might* be too low for me. However I also played it on a laptop with a trackpad so maybe this isn't an issue for a normal mouse. I did notice that sometimes the camera stopped responding to mouse input, but I wasn't able to figure out how to replicate it 100%. It seemed to work for me when standing still but sometimes not when moving, but maybe that's a coincidence.
Great job!
Interesting, I liked the ending especially. When the ending happened I think the ground got very hot and I barely just missed the van. But after trying it again I was able to get to the van before the ending happened and won before the main event even happened.
It's actually kind of fun, but there might be couple of things that could be improved upon it, because it could lead some people to think the game is bad if they don't take a closer look at it:
Overall though I think you did a pretty good job, but I think the game has this sort of thing where on a quicker look, someone might think it's really bad actually, and it may require more giving it a chance. I think if it has that kind of feeling it may be a sign there's something a bit off with the game design or something, but personally I kind of liked it.
Thanks for the lengthy comment mate, do appreciate it. And yeah I get your point, looking back on it I should have spent less time messing around with terrain, and flying rocks, and more on game design. At the end its the ash cloud that is hurting you, but I didn't have time to fix the particle system to make it clear when you're inside it. Also, a last minute change the maximum camera angle makes it difficult to see the ash cloud chasing you down the volcano, as you cant look up at it. Lots of things like that could definitely be improved.
Hee-ho. Super fun game. Cool idea. Thanks for good experience
flaming bad
Sounds like someone didn't collect enough minerals
Actually it's what I thought too initially, that it was really bad. I think your point may be valid and there may be something a bit off about this game's design or something, not sure what it is exactly. I had to take a closer look at it and felt a bit better about the game after that, but I think if I have to take a "closer look" and the initial gut feel is that it's bad, it may be a sign there's something a bit off about this game's design or execution or something of the sort.
Yep completely agree, as I got closer to the deadline I started to realise it was more like a demo scene then an actual game. These things need to be clear at the start I think.
A very unusual game with its own atmosphere. Comfortable control with good graphics, I liked it!
Appreciate the comment, glad you liked it!
