We wrote all the code, and made all the art assets, but the audio is royalty free.

I give it a big plus for the graphics and the idea.
I ran into one problem. What if I accidentally brought the customer the wrong thing? How do I exchange it for the right item? Because he's standing there and doesn't leave

Interesting concept! Other than some bugs (which are to be expected during a Jam) I didn't feel like I had to strategize as to the items I would give each adventurer. I understand you have to come in under budget, but I seemed to complete the game without issue through giving each adventurer the cheapest item possible.
I feel like two additions to the game loop may potentially help here:

Nice game, but having an option to cancel the item picked up would be nice. Also, when I’m near the blue potions and interact, I receive a red potion.
