interesting idea. implementation needs some work. Not sure how diving deeper theme fits in. Why are the controls so sluggish?

Thanks for sharing your opinion! The connection to the jam theme is not really strong I know, but I think that is also pretty vague so why not?Also this controls are made on purpose to actually create the same Five Nights at Freddy's minigame style!

Honestly there are not so many things to optimize in a game like this. I have years of experience in software development (I'm studying computer science at university :) ) and I have optimized thousands of lines of code. I don't really understand your comment. There is nothing to optimize.
"controls and mechanics are not very good"
This is a Five Nights at Freddy's style minigame. If you don't know, there are minigames in FNAF that are made to explain the lore behind the game. This minigames have a retro style (in particular atari 2600 style) so this controls and this mechanics are made on purpose.

I really liked the game, good atmosphere and fun gameplay, I just think the part with the animatronic telling the story sound rushed and ended to suddenly, and I think the game doesn't fit the jam's theme so well (but I have to admit that the theme is kinda vague), overall it's a good game, looking foward to the upcoming project!

Yeah a few persons told me that Candy was a little bit fast but there are subtitles! Do you find them useful?
