Fun game! Very reminiscent of old Tamagotchis. Good music and good art, and very nice presentation, though the controls do take a bit of getting used to.

Developer

Yeah... I really struggled to make non-awkward controls. I modeled it after the original Tamagotchi 3 button controls. In retrospect, I should have made GameBoy controls with a DPad, 2 main buttons and a Start/Select.

Thank you so much for playing 😁

Sooo cute. I like playing it. Would be cool to have this idea developed in hardware device.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

I finally managed to beat it! I really struggled with understanding the tips at first, but once I got the hang of managing the stats, it plays really nicely! The settings menu is super neat, and the volume options for sound and music were a nice touch as well. I think someone mentioned it below, but this would be great on mobile!

(There is supposed to be a picture of my hero here but I don't think it's working)

Wow! I was not expecting anyone to actually take the time to play all the way to the end. Thank you so much for playing :)

If you don't mind me asking, which hero did you get in the end? (edit: The picture didn't show up at first)

I think I needed to make the feedback for the baby stage better. I initially planned a "play" option for the baby but ended up spending 90% of my time making pixel art and only finishing about 30% of the art I wanted to make! :P I had so much fun doing it though.

Thanks again!

I like it! Harkens back to the bygone age of Tamagotchis. I think this game works great as an idle game (like cookie clicker or what have you) but I think most people in the game jam probably won't finish it. Which is a shame, because it looks fantastic!

The art looks good too. Well done!

Developer

Thanks for checking it out! I had a ton of fun working on all the pixel art.  Here is the "Professor Why" hero stage :P

I love the concept and esthetic. Maybe it doesn't work that well as a browser game, but I am 100% sure it would be a blast on mobile!

Thanks for playing! It really isn't much of a "game". I had a lot of fun making all the art. This is my first attempt at pixel art. I am a little sad people likely won't see the final heroes you can become depending on your choices in training and food. Here's a ninja! :P

Really unique concept! Most of us interpreted the theme as playing as the villain, but you gave it a different spin.

Developer

Thanks! It's not very fun...but, it exists! Haha.
