I loved this! Very fresh idea and a lot of nostalgia fuel! It's fun! Great visuals and audio!
The only thing I'd like to say is that there are some loopholes which allowed me to disregard the money aspect altogether. I didn't use any robots either.

Developer(+1)

Can you elaborate on the loopholes? Also, I think the robots are fun, but everyone is entitled to their own play style :)

I just didn't find myself needing the robots, but I'm sure they're fun. They might need to be a more vital part of the gameplay.
I didn't see the screenshots when I started playing the game so I didn't realize I'm playing a loophole until after that. Sorry :(
What I did is basically discover all ideas, mechanics and genres first which gives me a lot of money. Then I set up a single factory and just kept changing the paths to discover stuff since I can delete infinitely. There might need to be some penalty for deleting constantly, or some kind of maintenance fee but I do realize this is a 10 day jam and it's hard to balance these things perfectly.
It's still an amazing entry and deserved win because the narrative, atmosphere and discovery element were all really fun.
I recreated it now to show you how it looks. It might help to mention that I haven't played any factory games before so I probably didn't have a preconceived bias as to how it should look. It was more about the discovery for me than the automation.

There's no wrong way to play a sandbox. The robots aren't necessary, it's more about the player-driven desire to have enough money as to not be bottlenecked in expanding their factory. Glad you enjoyed the discovery 😄

Definitely a top contender. I'm a big fan of the factory style game genre. I'd say the biggest problems here are the logistics aren't really capable of making a sufficiently expansive factory that can produce all the various recipes well.

Developer(+1)

Yeah I had some trouble figuring out where to draw the line between automation and collectathon. Mostly people tend to just make a factory to generate passive income and another one to experiment for discovering stuff, which I'm actually ok with.

i played this for way too long, great game

Developer

Glad to hear it! How many games/genres did you discover? :)

yes, the only thing i want from it is a select and move tool

Developer

Interesting idea. Might add in the future if the game continues to get good reception!

Developer

Much appreciated! After making this game I feel like playing through Factorio again xD

Definitely the most polished submission here. Everything is premium quality and it's a cool take on Factorios gameplay. Excellent work!

What a glowing review! Thank you so much, I haven't eaten or slept in 9 days (joking).
