A bug that I don't think has been mentioned is that the jump sound and animation loops continually while you are in the air. At first I thought it was a walking sound and animation because it was on repeat.

Definitely see good potential in this game, but I would definitely recommend possibly slowing down the camera or something to mitigate the sway since it is a little aggressive. I had a good time!
this could be a good rage game like jump king with added difficulty with the camera!!
Honestly, I didn't read the description at first and thought the camera was just broken. It's an interesting idea, and I actually found it kinda fun to try and navigate off screen.
Interesting, but it has camera problems, and when I picked everything up I fell down a hole and couldn't pause or restart it, it lacks details, but it keeps getting better, my friend.
So, I think this game can improve in some things...
-Camera movement,
-Sounds
-And the theme and creativity
but in the other hand the Visuals are very good so keep going my friend :)
thanks for your feedback!
The camera movement is supposed to be opposite but it does shake a little when you’re standing right in the middle.. I’m not too sure how to fix it and I’m a little scared to break the whole camera (because I kind of randomly pressed a few buttons and decided that the camera going the opposite directions is perfect as you get to see the blocks on the other side of the map and it gives you hints as to where to go next)
I did make a few sounds that I didn’t have enough time to implement, for example walking..(same goes for the walking animation, just not enough time to do it) working alone on a game with a time limit isn’t as pleasant as I thought it would be..
It’s a little sad because originally there was supposed to be a shop where you could do little upgrades with the tech but I run out of time and I wouldn’t even know where to start to make that shop 🥹
Next game jam I’m definitely not doing everything alone with little guidance of friends (hopefully!) 🥰
Yeah a week is very short(especially if you have a job). Keep in mind there are some month long game jams or even longer ones. While learning to make games though, sometimes a short jam is nice because you get to learn so much while not investing so much time into a project that you feel has to do well (iteration is part of learning, you should expect your first few games to be flawed)
We got our game in a semi-finished state just prior to the deadline (missing most sound effects and some planned animations)
I really liked the door design, that was very well done.
Most jams allow for premade assets(this page has alot listed https://itch.io/jam/goedware-game-jam-zero-ui/topic/3759023/free-gamedev-resourc...) while this jam stipulated the majority should be made by you. Perhaps not having to spend as much time on assets will free up more time on future jams
Thanks for your comment, I think I mostly enjoy making assets rather than the programming/sound parts of game creation. I totally agree with you that a week is very short, especially for one person with other responsibilities, on the current gmtk I actually got myself a programmer, so alongside the design I dont have to do as much programming :) I definitely enjoyed learning everything while making my first ever game and I believe I learned a lot ^-^
