The idea is good, but I think couple of tweaks could make it better. Starting with player shadow when we jump. I couldn't understand whether am I jumping or not for a while :)

Thanks, since I got used to the jumping distances after working on the project for a while I underestimated the need for better feedback on the jumping and landing. That was one thing on our to-do list that we weren't able to get done by the deadline. I'd been thinking about a jump sound and a landing sound effect. Shadows could be a good additional player feedback mechanism, especially since it could better show where the players feet are for judging how far you can step off the ledges as that was another issue.
I don't think I've ever seen a top down platformer before, this is pretty great!
One thing I will mention is that it could still benefit from some mechanics of more traditional platformers, like jump buffering and coyote time. Also some kind of shadow underneath the character that reacts to the jumps might help, since the perspective can make some sections needlessly difficult.
I think that had a bug in one section, so I couldn't finish it, I will try it again later. But looks good, :D a little frustrating for me
The concept is interesting and the art is good (even though from asset packs). However it struggles due its mechanic of jumping. It's hard to tell how long you've been jumping, when you're going to land or even if you're jumping in the first place. It's a bit tough to solve considering its a top down platformer but if I were you I would add a shadow at the feet of the character that changes size based on your height just to make it a bit more easier to use. Other than that, its a nice cozy platformer.
Thanks for the feedback!
I've gotten pretty used to the jumping distances so I didn't think much of the jump animation not really showing you precisely when you land. If we do end up picking the project back up after the jam we might add some more visual/audio feedback for the player, either way it's a good consideration to be aware of for future projects.
