Recommended tutorials?

I'm interested in making a short (maybe ~10 minute) game for this, but I have no experience using Twine or any of the other recommended tools. For my concept I need about half a dozen tracked decision points with only brief divergence at each one, and preferably the ability to format text in different ways. If I'm really reaching, it would be useful to have two independent text boxes (one staying off to the side while the main text advances page by page, say).

So, quick questions before I dive into the first tutorial series Google shows me: does it sound like Twine is right for my idea in the first place? Has anyone got a lead on a tutorial that would make this relatively painless? I got as far as the story formats section of the Twine Cookbook before going "well, I don't know which of these would do what I'm after and I don't know how to find that out."

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I would just start off with something very simple like this guide and start making stuff.

Once you get to play with Twine a little bit and decide you like it and want to style your game, I think this free guide is very useful
