Track description | Creative process
Not fully game-accurate but i tried to replicate the synths used and mastering limitation of the console and still give it my personal spin.
Track made over the course of some evenings with:
-Ableton Live 10 Suite;
-Samples from Mars (for in-daw emulation of Kawaii keyboards and MS-20)
-FM8 (kick and various fx)
-Triton VST
-MS-20 VST
-Polysix VST
-Korg Minilogue
-Drum Samples from Splice, edited by chopping and mixing
-Various creative mixing plugins
-Various mastering plugins.

This track baffles and delights me, it's so unique! The first minute of the track is perfect no notes I love it. Once the drums come in the sound gets a bit muddy, I think the kick drum is a little overpowered in the mix. I think the sound choices are a little too crunchy for metroid prime, but I could totally see this in one of the gameboy metroid games
The synths and bells on this are sooo Metroid! Echoing what Blue Lava said, the percussion does feel a bit unnatural for a Prime OST, but it still sounds great. I could totally see this for a winter exploration level.
Thank youuu!
I really enjoyed the lush synth pads coloring the entire track with a frosty feel with the bell-like synth in the background acting like falling snow. While the rhythm with the four on the floor kick drum may not sound like a Metroid Prime track, I certainly enjoyed it! I think that the areas that you did a good job of fitting the original soundtrack style is in the sounds you used, the emphasis on synth usage and mechanical braams, and sparse melody/ambient focus. I listened to this through a few times and I certainly would not mind exploring an area in a game if this was looping in the background many times over! Great work and thank you for sharing!
Thank you very much! I know that the rhythm was a bit too different from the rest of the soundtrack but i wanted to still make the track a bit more personal while still exploring the soundspaces of the original game.
