I may not have submitted anything (as my track really was too bad to submit), but don't think I would miss a new song from you ;). I like how you chose for the "Remake/demake" approach, as the original soundtrack has little chord progressions and melodies - and I mean, that stuff is your bread and butter.
I love how you start in 6/8 and switch to 8/8 at 0:40. And not only that, the tempo seems to change as well. As usual, I did not notice the change, so I applaud you.
The vocals, the piano, and all the other instruments I am incapable of recognizing really fit the coldness well. Once again, a song I wouldn't want to have missed :)

Track description | Creative process
Summa Nix is an original track inspired by Phendrana Drifts from Metroid Prime, intended to be a remake of the original soundtrack. I approached this challenge by watching gameplay of the Phendrana Drifts level on mute and trying to compose a track that would appropriately fit the aesthetics and the level design. I opted for a modernized compositional style with a mixture of orchestral and electronic instruments but still tried to capture the ambient sound design that permeates the Metroid Prime series. The echoing piano with the mallets helps create the frozen environment imagery while the taiko drums drive the track forward, knowing that danger could be lurking behind any corner. I experimented with numerous effects to try and create the dark electronic feel that matches the first-person exotic space gameplay. This was a really fun challenge to make as it allowed me to explore different methods of composing and helped me create a cool piece of music in a different style than I'm used to. Thanks for listening and I hope you enjoy!
