What external tool did you use (if you did that part of the challenge)?
BleepBox (and BFXR for like one sound effect, didn't feel like i had control over it though so i moved to BleepBox), as well as its my first time doing sound effects (though I didn't make music due to time limitations, everything else is all me.)

What asset did you contribute to Open Game Art (if you did that part of the challenge)? Please provide a link.
I put all the Tileset, boarder, font, UI, items and other graphics on OGA and put them in the public domain: https://opengameart.org/content/deathtrap-tileset

Great work, I really dig the art style! It looks and feels retro, in the best possibleway . It's fun, fast and easy to pick up.

My only complain is that it can get too random. I made it to 3-3 relatively easy, with lots of extra lives, but then pretty much every action led to an enemy or a wall. Lost all my lives in the next couple of levels...

Other than that, this is a solid simple game! looks and feels really polished.

P.S. Would love to see different interactions with the gameplay for the different characters :)

Hehe yeah, i agree with you 100% its just lack of time that made it this random, i have plans for a fuller version of the game with this and a lot more issues fixed, as well as shops items and more arcadey game play. other than that I'm really really glad you enjoyed this game this one kicked my butt and by far my hardist game to build (not counting my LD46 entry I'm doing right now). also im glad you are not giveing me too much of a bad time due to how hard this game is, i wasnt aiming for easy for the player but .... well so far only one person i know of beat this demo build and that was the older version that has only 5 worlds this build has 9 (that said this build has them a lot easter).

Developer

I'll Put this here.

I used all the limitations, made all art assets myself all 1 bit and using 2 colors per tile to really limit/challenge myself.

I also released them in the public domain so anyone can use them (only thing i didnt make was the music i even made the sound effects thats something i never done before).

if you are able to beat this game please tell me.

its kinda very hard (for an EasyJam game) though it was made that way, The way i took easy is by making the game as easy to port to other systems, infact the first prototype with items random world generation and 3 objects was only 200-300 lines. i also plan on building a Atari2600 port of this game, though if that doesn't go as planned i might just port it to the more powerful gameboy instead

to other systems as well as easy to learn and play, one of those easy to play hard to master kinda games, in a vane of Tetris and Splunky.

In short I hope you enjoy the game it turned out much better than i expected.
