Was your game made without the use of AI art or code?
nope- we are a group of complete beginners who need some extra guidance for some parts. we understand this is against the rules of the competion to use AI code but for us, it was worth it in order to get accurate answers and guidance. We understand this disqualifies us from winning but wanted to show you the result anyway :)

Were the majority of the assets used made by your team?
All of the art and music was made by our team- the only thing we didnt make were the sound FX.

How does your game fit the THEME of this game jam?
We decided to make a dropable item which either gives you a buff or a debuff at random- so it is up to you to take it or leave it, to use it or lose it cccc:

Beautiful game. Liked how fast-paced it was and power-ups idea gives the game a lot.

Would have liked to see the power-ups you got to show up on the UI.  Fun to see how much gun speed or movement speed you have gotten. Or maybe show it at the end of the level.

Felt the negative pickups did little as you could just grab everything and you would always end up with a positive in the end with everything.

Really good job on this game, Keep it up.

Loved the art style and the controls where nice and responsive.

I didn't manage to get far since I got so many debuffs from the cheeses and the amount of slimes started to become overwhelming at some point.

Very cool and graphically beautiful game! Nice shooter with a twist. Perhaps a bit too weak twist. Would be good to see the effect of the cheese better. I did not even know where the theme was until I checked the description here.

the ui definetly took a hit from our limited game dev experience- we had a system in mind that would showcase all the accumulated buffs in the UI as well as using a "ratcom" to allow for a dialog that would explain elements better.

I really love the art of this game. The gameplay is smooth and the implementation of the theme is cool too.

Suggestions:

-after you get the buff or nerf of the cheese, i can't really read it because it goes away too fast.

-the death screen could be improved artisticly (looks like a last minute thing)


All in all nice game.

thank you! yea sadly the scope got out of hand a bit and things that needed more attention didnt get them, and sadly all the UI implementation suffered because of it :(
