I love headbutting the fish, it's pretty awesome. The rooms being generated differently each time you play in the well is impressive as well. Very good job on the game!

Developer

Thank you! I originally planned for some form of noise generation (closer to an explorable map rather than a room-based dungeon) but it was a little wide a scope for a game jam game. I also eye-balled the generation so left is much more likely a direction for rooms to generate than every other one lol (I used an iteration system where each room would decide its neighbours, did that 5 times to build up a network, and culled duplicates each loop, then placed a random room for each chosen index position). Glad you enjoyed the game!

Really nice concept ! Had fun playing it, maybe just a bit too frustrating with the hard controls ( +1 for W to swim, Z in my french case)

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! I said in another reply but I'll say again here: The controls were purposefully obtuse, but I realise now maybe a little too difficult? Especially since the theme wasn't something like "Hard controls". Thanks for the feedback! W key noted o7

Great game., Amazing graphics and game feel. Music is bopping. Add W to swim PLS

Developer

Thank you! If I ever do something like this again given more time I will absolutely have some form of keybind menu!

Really liked the animations in this game, the concept of killing the enemies with your head is really fun!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I enjoy the little TUNK and feel of the attacking system. It was fairly last minute but I like how it turned out and t's satisfying to bonk multiple enemies in a row. And the animations were all made by me! Both the pixel art and sequences. I had a really fun time messing with things, but the falling animation and death screen were my favourites.

Fun game! I have a big head too, sadly I can't use it as this guy does xD

Had some orientation problems with the rotation system. Maybe changed it so you always rotate to the mouse position would be an good idea.

Also, some (rare) times the map spawned with a fish inside me. Kinda frustrating.

The audio has some bugs too. Sometimes it just restarts or something like that. I don't found the conditions to that happens.

Hi there! Thanks for the feedback!

1. The movement was purposefully obtuse, but I think maybe a little too much.

2. I never came across this in my testing, but found it immediately after the submission deadline ended, go figure! Sorry about this one!

3. Similarly, it worked fine in testing. I was in a rush and my looping system could 100% have been better, if you unfocus the game it loops wrong and sometimes it jumps for no reason, HTML must keep time differently. I'm unsure.

Thanks for playing my game!

Cool, thanks for replying!

About the third point, I think you're right. Maybe WebGL buillds can be annoying some times. My submitted game also have some problems with it.

I went into the well and got eaten alive by fishes

Developer

Shh... Don't tell people!
- Definitely not a fish

This game's concept is great - I'd love to see a full release at some point

Developer

Thank you! There was lots I wanted to do (more roguelite elements like upgrades, a shop, levels, etc.) but I bit off more than I could chew with my plans. I've got a very good base going for myself to build off of though so I'm 100% gonna expand this in the future
