Games in which the player shoots things to progress, usually with a variety of guns, and other times with bows and arrows.

Games that try to simulate real-world activities (like driving vehicles or living the life of someone else) with as much realism as possible. Simulators generally require more study and orientation than arcade games, and the best simulators are also educational.

Focused on using its text, moreso than its visuals or audio, to tell the bulk of its story/plot. (Still can have great audio and visuals, though!)
