Dev Log #11 (Very important, please read!)

Due to all of the shenanigans going on at itch.io, I currently do not plan on updating the game’s page on this website. If they backpedal on delisting NSFW games (and their terrible community guidelines page) I might resume updating the page over there.

From now on the game will be available directly from the Discord server! That is also the best source for news about the game, though major announcements will be posted on DA & Patreon as well! <3

Overview

The first of the two new classes is Duelist! Duelist is a physical damage dealer that focuses on speed and aggression. Duelists use swords made from praelia, a special ore made from the distilled mana of powerful creatures.

This metal is able to pass through moving material, leaving behind essence that inflates stricken foes. To craft Duelist’s blades you will have to melt down loot from stronger creatures.

To keep this grind from being too severe, duelists have less main-hand options available per level compared to other weapons. In return, you will have more off-hand sheathe options to maintain the same level of customization!

Attacking with the class does two things. First, it applies stacks of Crunch. Three Crunch stacks applies Shredded which cleaves the DEF of the target. Second, it adds to the sword gauge.

Maxing out the sword gauge transforms your blade, causing your attacks to deal additional magic damage to your foes. You also gain significant speed and unlock some new abilities.

Stances

Once the sword gauge reaches 50/100, you can pick a Stance. These stances include "Rush Forward!" which trades DEF/MDF for ATK & SPD, and "En Garde!" which forces the enemy party to target the user but allows them to riposte after being attacked. These skills are instant, meaning they don't consume your turn to activate them!

Sheathing

The class also has access to Sheathe abilities. These prevent you from attacking but grant effects. Normal sheathing will cleanse any stat modifying debuffs & massively increase your sword gauge.

Vortex Sheathe, which is unlocked when you max the sword gauge and enter Blitz mode, allows you to absorb 30% of your target's current size. If you don't deflate for three turns, it unleashes it as an AOE attack that hits all targets.

Overview

The Druid is a magical class that deals damage to foes primarily through inflicting the Berry DoT effect. Druids store up juice in their vase by juicing enemies or allies as a free action each turn, which they can then spend to either cast certain abilities, or to summon plants to aid in combat!

Druids use mana to deal magical damage, but their plants deal physical damage! A druid’s damage is split evenly across their own abilities and those of their summoned plants.

(Sprite is still a WIP!)

Plants

Druids have access to an arsenal of multiple plants which they can have summoned at once. A druid can summon up to three plants at a time. These plants will be destroyed upon receiving any damage from foes.

These include the Cobalt Flower, which deals liquid damage to a single foe, the Splasher, which attacks all foes, and the Sapper, which continually slows and juices a target to keep your juice reserves up!

Using a druid’s basic spells will mark a target for plants to attack that turn, allowing you to command them for better strategizing in multi-foe battles!

Overview

The main feature being added in 1.2 is the endless dungeon! The endless dungeon is a faux roguelite mode for the game, where you can tackle randomized dungeon tiers for sweet loot and exp. The dungeon is divided into different tiers, each consisting of a combination of rooms chosen from a large pool.

The dungeon is designed to get increasingly difficult as you progress. However, unlike the normal game when you meet your untimely detonation you will not get a game over! Instead you will rematerialize at the entrance of the dungeon.

Tiers

The order of tiers & the rooms you encounter will be randomized in each run. Each tier has its own unique puzzle & challenge mechanics, unique enemies, and a boss at the final floor of the tier.

Each tier’s boss will drop a unique crafting material that can be made into one of many items, such as equipment, furniture, or even accessories! Defeating them will also spawn generic loot chests in their chamber. The number and rarity of these chests will increase the further you delve!

Dungeon Ruins Crawling with cultists and spirits, the dungeon ruins are your typical dungeon fare. Here you’ll have to dodge spikes that pop you if you're significantly inflated, inflative darts, and the occasional mimic if you happen to greed after a chest!

Should you make it to the end of this tier, you’ll be faced with the Gate Demon and her posse of cultists! Take her down and you’ll earn an accursed horn, which you can make into an ATK boosting necklace, among other things!

I’ll be posting more teasers for upcoming content like this in the Discord over the next few days as I put the finishing touches on the Dungeon Ruins & following tier!

Progression

As you get further into a run, the boss at the end of each tier will start to gain modifiers. These modifiers give the boss unique stat bonuses or enhanced properties. The number of modifiers a boss gains will increase as you progress further into the dungeons’ depths, up to a certain limit.

As of 1.2, most enemies & NPCs will be berryable! Additionally, when a berried NPC explodes, any NPCs standing near them will be splashed in their juices & begin to swell as well! This was a community fundraiser goal reward & something people have been asking for a while!

Update 1.2 will also feature new NPC interactions, such as class-specific inflation tools, dragging NPCs around as blimps on a string, and more!

A large bugfix patch as a followup to 1.1.0 will be available sometime in the next few days. The first WIP build for 1.2 will be available in a few days on Patreon as well. This will include Druid, berryable enemies, the first two tiers of the endless dungeon, new lore objects & interactions around the map, the new race Saevusen, the start of the Patron directed questline, and some community content!

The followup WIP after that will be released not long after with the next two tiers, Duelist, berryable NPCs, new NPC interactions, new mini-dungeons around the map, and likely a few more features!

Thank you for reading! <3
