There is a new jam on the block and this one is about MECHAS!
The Otaidokan was born from one of these and I have to say that the limit of time is a great incentive to get things done. And, as you have limited time, you are forced to trim and hammer constantly your work until it fits. It really works well for those ideas you have in the drawer that never went anywhere. I have plenty of those waiting for an apropiate JAM.
OK, let's be honest, not a big fan of the mecha genre. Back in the day, me and my friends had a lot of Battletech in our pre-Warhammer 40.000 era (gosh, it's been... 30 years?) and was great but the granularity of the systems with so many rules, blips and details is just not for me anymore. These days, I love short not-overwhelming rulesets. Actually, that's my entire game design philosophy.
Enough of that, let's work in a mecha ttrpg. I want the following:
Definitely, something to think about.

I like mechas, so I am super invested in this one! I love Macross and Robotech. Are you thinking of fighting against kaijus, other mechas or something else?
Everybody likes giant robots.
My thoughts are mainly mecha vs mecha but, being a narrative game, everything is possible.
The background I have in mind is an interstellar war where the mechas are in both sides. The good guys train their pilots in an academy that essentially works like a high school full of crazy teenagers.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Nice.
I have just checked in the jam and seems there's a number of people making ttrpg's! I could give it a try! XDDDD
