Devlog 3 - Production

During this past week I have looked over the creation of a potential new system for the project that will increase the polish and overall visual and audio feedback for the player. During the gameplay, the player will be able to gain and lose sanity, and depending on this factor, there will be multiple changes to the backing music as well as the visuals the player sees to add some visual clarity on what is going on.

This process would be done through the post-processing and the audio mixer components present in Unity. When the player's sanity reaches a lower level (for this example it would be around 50%) parts of the music in the background will fade out and the player will start to see some visual abstracting as well as other effects like a vignette.

When the sanity of the player goes even lower (for this example it will be less than 25%), and the screen will start to show more red and the soundtrack playing in the background will become even more distorted, giving the player a sense of danger.

Finally, when the player reaches a critical level of sanity, a brand new music track will start playing as the game visual reach their max distortion.

Overall, it will be a lot to add on top of the current workload of the project, but since the sound design and sound track is all completed for the project, that leaves me with ample time to work on this system!
