These past few weeks have been quite productive for me! I've been working on Music and Sound effects so far, and I've compiled quite a library of tracks for the game. The challenge with creating these tracks mainly stems from the fact that the game is a card game. I will need to find a way to make these cards that the player is placing down convey emotion through the music. So I've focused in on 2 instruments to set the tone of each track, those 2 instruments are the Drums/Percussion sounds, and the Bass track of the song. The main reason why I chose to do this was to use the rhythm that these 2 instruments create to form a sort of "tension level" of sorts. For example, in the main exam battle theme, the main "tension level" of the track contrasts going up and down like a sine wave, and this does a great job at emulating a feeling of a test, with the feeling of "I know the answer here!" contrasting against the feeling of "what even is this question?!". The example is difficult to explain with just text, but I hope you will play our game and see for yourself!
