The Problem
This week, I was implementing animations for my previously created weapons and utility shield. Luckily at the end of the week this week, I was able to finish implementing all of my found animations a little early allowing me to find and implement some VFX for the hammer. This was a bit more time-sensitive since I had only a short amount of hours to figure out how to implement these effects as well as find effects to use in the first place.
The Solution
Luckily for me, some existing assets were already in our project that were available to use. Then I ended up exploring the anim notify system I explored last week for sound effects to see if there was something similar for particle effects. There turned out to be a similar notify for spawning and playing some effects, it even allowed me to edit where it would spawn, the rotation, and the scale of the effect. Using the tools provided, I was able to swiftly and easily implement the visual effects for the hammer's attack animations.
