day 3 - beginnings of a vampire survivors clone

OKAY SO I DID A LOT TODAY

vampire survivors clone

it's not a fun game, but it IS a game

I didn't write this as i went along and it's hard to summarise now so that's something i'm gonna uh, look into doing in future, BUT i have a somewhat almost vampire survivors clone!

ish

not really

but anyway, so you have a character, uh the godot logo, that's.. yeah that's lazy i'll fix that in future but the godot logo can walk around and always faces toward the cursor, so, a little different from vampire survivors but whatever it works, and yeah so it automatically shoots a little terrible brown ball every so often, the brown ball deletes itself and the enemy on collision

annnnnnnnd that's it! well okay also we have random enemy spawning and the enemies run toward the player as if they're zombies, and i drew them with brown hair but it turns out it was more orange and yeah there's a lot that sucks about this, the player can't take damage, enemies can't take damage either, they just die INSTANTLY, there's no levelling and no GUI

so really i actually got a modest amount of stuff done today not a lot of stuff done, like there's still no tileset background and i haven't drawn a main charcater yet and the only two things i have drawn look _awful_ but look this is dev art, and dev art is never good, at least that's the friendly lie i'm telling myself

so tomorrow i'm gonna look at how to setup health for the character and the enemies, work on the main character dying and a way to make the game harder over time, tho with the current velocity of the bullets it's actually probably too difficult right now anyway lmao uh if you could die anyway

so yeah tomorrow i gotta learn a lotta stuff but i think i'm making progress on this whole like, game thing, i'm just embracing the "it doesn't have to be good" right now
