UH OKAY
so i got like, experience working, experience progress displayed, i got enemy health and drops working, i got player levels working, i did a lot of stuff actually but i forgot to write about any of it because i have really bad adhd
the experience is a picture of a carrot that i drew and the level system is really simple it's just (level * level) + 3, so the first level takes 3 exp and then after that it's like, exponential or whatever, that might not stay the way it is forever, but it should make it harder and harder to level up
i created a slightly wider gathering system for exp than the standard hitbox for enemies, so experience can be gained without getting damaged but other stuff like having enemies spawn in waves and implementing player health i didn't get too, mostly because i got busy with life stuff, i went out to the book shop and got gay books with my boyfriend :3
uh anyway, the actual dev challenge starts in like 14 hours so i guess i'll start a project page for that and start blogging about my participation in the jam!
this didn't go as expected but i did make something passable as a game so i don't actually mind so much ~<3 hopefully i can make something in the game jam that's fun
later!
