Project 2D

Hello again.

I hope you're doing well today.

When I finished developing Mother Earth, I've started to work on a different project. And I mean, different.

This game will be somewhat of a larger scale, at least compared to Mother Earth. Actually, during development of that game, I've started writing down ideas for this new one on the side. So far, I have some solid concepts for this new game. But I still think they could either be improved or removed later on.

So, to start off, let me introduce what this new game will be like.
Note: Some of these things are still "concepts", so they can change in the future.

  • It will be a 2D top-down game (due to being inspired by Moonlight Kids' The Wild at Heart), where the progression mostly relies on the main story.
  • There will also be a vast environment that the player can freely explore.
  • In the said environment, the player can obtain different collectibles that can either grant them special items that can help with game progression or some additional background regarding the main characters.

This is pretty much all the core concepts that I want to implement in the new game for now.

And as a little teaser, here's a screenshot of a working main menu screen for the new project. As the title of this post suggests, it's currently called "Project 2D".

Right now, I'm hoping to make at least a playable demo of the game. This is solely for the purpose of introducing the story, the gameplay, and other important features.

But, I can firmly believe that I'll never be able to turn this into a full game on my own. I've realized in order for that to happen, I need to have the time, the resources, and the commitment. And also, not all of my ideas are fully finalized yet.

In the mean time,  this is all I'm gonna say for now. I'm thankful that I've been given ideas for this new project, and I'm just as thankful for being given the time and abilities to make it happen.

If you have anything to say about this, then you can comment down below.

Thank you for your time, and God bless.
