This week began with me worried about not having anything else to add to the project. As of today, I've added more audio assets for the game and completely redone the tutorial level.
There isn't much to say about adding more audio assets. I did run into an issue getting the m4a files that the recorder makes converted into wav files that unity can use. It was also funny taking a voice clip from one if my teammates and maximizing the gain when he said the word "dang".
The more complicated thing I did this week was by far the tutorial rework. Our game is very unique in the way that you go about preparing food. This requires a tutorial that can ensure that players know how to play before the game properly starts. Blocking out the level and breaking the game into sections was time consuming. Writing a script to check the players progress throughout the tutorial was also a challenge. Now I have the doors in the level locked until they receive orders that correspond with what I'm trying to teach the player.
I can only hope this better communicates how our game works. During this week I showed our game to two of my friends outside of the program and both of them struggled to understand how to play. I'm looking forward to seeing if our game makes more sense to new players now.
