Thwip Network Developing Progress

Chi Hang So, Network Lead 6/23/2023

What a rough week this has been, the project's direction wasn't going as intended as I thought it would be. This goes back to two months ago when I told my teammates not to study replication and that's where this project lead astray. This was very naive of me to assume I could do the connection and also do the replication on top of my teammate's code. This clearly was the downfall, I just realized that doing replication on top of my teammate's logic would be very problematic. Learning someone's else logic is very time-consuming and we will be behind on everything. Not to mention that their logic is strictly single-player logic which we will be forced to change code to fit multiplayer standards. This has led the whole team unmotivated with work and struggle to stay focused and ahead of what's to come.

Solutions to this were made earlier this week in a team meeting. Everyone needs to learn replication and from this day forward when we want to implement functionality, it has to be with replication in mind. We cannot be having two team members be the only one who knows replication and besides replication and getting a connection has nothing to do in terms of coding. Last part of the solution as well as, organization and start getting our coding standards right. That's it for this week, we'll see how it turns out in our last month.
