Hello all, Jacob here. This week I didn't really face any significant problems. Organization of the VR was a problem, met this week. I would know where things are but other group members would struggle in searching through the hierarchy for anything they were looking for. Stetson the lead would look for where the UI was in the hierarchy, and ask me many questions and I would answer them. It started getting to a point that I was like I definitely need to start reorganizing the hierarchy. Another problem I have is currently how I go about redesigning the sound script. The Script right now tells the object to play a sound when a condition is met but the sound levels of the objects will kind of overlap a thought I have is to add more groups in the mixer. doing this will mean I make more UI sliders for the player to change, which I think would be pretty cool to have too.
The fix to the issue was for me to reorganize. I went through and grouped similar objects and made foundational objects to hold other objects like a ground object that holds the base or an object to hold all the walls. I group UI objects in the level together, that way in code if we wanted to give the player the decision to turn it off in the settings then they can turn off the UI that isn't really important. Like the one that would pop up when the player travels. If I run with the multiple sliders that could work better actually, but I feel would be inefficient. I hope to maybe get some ideas from the group members on how I go about this but I'm not sure how much they know about sound.
