Connected Games Progress Update 4

The is the third post for my Connected Games assignment at Kingston University UK. The game as previously stated in progress update 1, 2 and 3 is called Robomonks and is a Coop based game set in a post apocalyptic world.

Since the last blog post, some hugh improvements have been done to the game.

An enemy script was made by my team member, Ambesh Gupta but  I had to rework the code since the enemy wasnt doing anything besides patrolling.

I also added some Health powerups that the player can consume if their health goes below half of total health. If so they can take the powerup and raise their health upto a max of half health. Basically, for Max Health of 100, a player if loses more than 50 health, their current health is 30 then they will take the power up which will boost back health upto 80 (Current Health + Half of Max Health = 30 + 50 = 80).

Some issues were there regarding synchronising of Enemy UI for all players in game. This has been fixed and all players can now see the current health of the enemy.

The level has also been added to the game by our designers.

There is still two issues, one regarding the animation of players while running and walking during shoot mode and the other one is when the player goes over anything other than ground, the animator stops working. These minor issues will be fixed in the future.

Also, now when you win or lose the game, you will be thrown back to the lobby from where you can play again or quit the game.

An overview of the game is shown below. The video is a implementation video of the game that basically informs you about the essential parts of the game.

Thank you and enjoy the game.
