This past few group meetings I have had to bounce between several different tasks in order to be a valuable team member to my group. I have done my best to contribute both directly and indirectly to documentation and the early build turn in. With the build I was the first one to experiment with the git and push a scene with a character object and a script I wrote to allow for basic first-person movement and camera control. I had little trouble with this feature so the only concern with that is that it isn't enough work to merit my contribution. I had been attending our out of class meetings so that we could all help with the documentation and help in writing section, proof reading and editing other sections, and I also helped my group with the formatting of the documentation on google drive. This was where larger problems presented themselves where our group had conflicting ideas and we needed to communicate those ideas thoroughly to each other. I also contributed to discussions regarding the general ideas and features for the game.
We particularly were having arguments regarding the scope of our game. I am concerned about the scope growing too fast, were as, other members of the group are concerned about our game being too small or us finishing too early. I feel as long as we have a working and fun version as soon as we can, we can always add more features to flesh out the project. I'm also concerned about coming across as lazy or apathetic to my team especially since this month's schedule has been shaken by the Hall of Fame event on campus as I've been trying to experience that as much as I could.
My best solution I can think of is to really try my best and add as much as I can to the project this coming week as I should have less on my plate. I feel like everyone else has been working really hard and I need to contribute more in order to pull my weight on the project. There isn't another way about it, I need to put my head down and code more. I need to do everything in my power to help make the best game we can.
