I want it for the interpolation, because I'm wanting to convert movies and it would be nice if the power goes out or it crashes or I just want to do something else for awhile, that it could just resume on the last frame in the output folder

It already does. Close the app and select resume render when you want to start up again. Don't move or edit any files of the video you are rendering though.
