Solved!--- (SPOILERS!!) Clover.exe problem

yo! this is mostly aimed at the dev(s), but if anyone else has a solution pls feel free to chime in! basically I've reached the point at the tower when Niko falls asleep and you need to open the game with clover.exe running.

the issue I think I'm having is that, because I started the game through the itch.io app, the game is therefore running on that profile ('itch-player xxxxxx', you know the drill), but when I open clover.exe I'm doing that through the Windows account on my PC, so the two don't sync up; nothing happens, Niko stays asleep, and the game closes itself when I press a key. I can only open the game or clover.exe through the itch.io launcher, not both, and if I open the two directly from documents my save data isn't preserved and the game begins as if I'm a first-time player. I'm pretty confident it's an issue with the two distinct profiles (ie my Windows profile and my 'itch-player xxxxx' profile), but if it isn't please do let me know what it really is!

any ideas? I've absolutely loved the game so far, and I really want to be able to keep going.  thanks in advance!!!

Okay I think I see why this is happening now.  This is an issue that occurs when you run the game with the "itch sandbox" mode enabled.

I'd recommend copying your save file from the itch profile to your main profile and running the game executable manually/with the sandbox feature disabled in the itch launcher.

Your itch save data will be stored in a folder that looks like this, with a slightly different itch id.  Be sure to turn on hidden folders if you're have trouble finding the full path.

C:\Users\itch-player-5f1e0bcd\AppData\Roaming\Oneshot

Then copy everything from this folder to your main profile, that is, a folder that looks like this

C:\Users\<MAIN USER NAME HERE>\AppData\Roaming\Oneshot

It's possible the Oneshot folder won't exist in "C:\Users\<MAIN USER NAME HERE>\AppData\Roaming" yet, so create it if it doesn't.

If you do this, you should be able to launch the game executable manually and still have your save data, and then run the clover.exe as well to continue the game.

completely forgot I was running it in sandbox mode! that makes complete sense. the fix worked perfectly!! thank u so much, and while I'm here I'll jus say congrats on making such a great game too!
