In case you missed it, the Haunted PS1 Demo Disc is really awesome. It's a collection of 17 different horror games, all sharing the  theme of being styled after PS1 games. That is to say, they're all inspired by PS1 horror classics like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Fear Effect, and many more. They play like PS1 games, look like PS1 games, and are scarier than just about any modern horror games thanks to their graphical and gameplay limitations, but still incorporate modern polish.

Another great thing about this compilation is that many of these demos are already available on Itch as separate downloads. So I took a look at every game, and found that nine of them really stand out above the rest. Those are:

These nine games all either do something truly unique, or feature the most polish and most intriguing gameplay/stories. But all the games in this compilation are worth playing for one reason or another, even the ones I personally didn't like.
