SECTOR ROT
An ASCII tactical action game about survival, exploration and corruption inside a collapsing sector.
Sector Rot is a terminal-inspired action game where every corridor, enemy, weapon, item and interface element is presented through a clear ASCII visual style.
Explore hostile sectors, fight corrupted creatures, collect weapons and supplies, choose a specialized class and survive long enough to reach the exit.
The game combines fast combat with tactical positioning, resource management, character progression and custom map support.
Current Version
Sector Rot V2 Alpha 0.7.7 Demo
This is an early public demo created to test the core game, collect player feedback and determine the future direction of the project.
The game is still in development. Content, balancing, interface elements and systems may change in future versions.
Modding Support
Sector Rot is designed around editable data and supports external mods.
The standalone Sector Rot Modding Kit provides templates, reference data, validation tools and documentation for modifying supported game systems.
Modders can work with:
- classes;
- perks;
- achievements;
- weapons;
- ammunition;
- enemies;
- containers;
- loot;
- difficulty;
- environment settings;
- colors;
- icons;
- audio;
- campaigns;
- game modes;
- Open Run configuration;
- player guide content.
Mods are installed separately and do not require modification of the original game source code.
Map Maker
The standalone Sector Rot Map Maker allows creators to build custom maps without using the internal development editor.
Map creators can:
- create new maps;
- place gameplay symbols;
- configure doors and terminals;
- add enemies and containers;
- configure custom loot;
- create map exits and transitions;
- validate map structure;
- package maps as map-only mods.
The Map Maker can be downloaded separately by players who only want to create maps.
This is another important step forward for Sector Rot, improving compatibility and opening the door for new content created by players who want to build maps, modify existing systems or add their own ideas to the game.
Everything has been prepared and organized to make the process as accessible as possible. Complete documentation for modding and map creation will be available, together with the necessary tools and ready-to-use templates. Just contact me and I will provide the appropriate ZIP package for what you want to create.
I will never charge creators for using these tools, and no one will claim ownership over the original content you make. Modding and map creation will remain transparent, community-focused and accessible to everyone. This is one of the core principles I want Sector Rot to be built on.
For questions, support or access to the creator tools, contact me through Discord.
Thank you for supporting Sector Rot.
