UE5 Engine question

I don't know a lot about engines, but I was still curious; You don't want to use the any of the new, performance-heavy tech in UE5 like lumen to keep it fast on weaker hardware, so I'm curious why you decided to go with UE5? Why not do UE4, which AFAIK is more inherently optimized, if you're not using any of the UE5 tech?

UE5 is newer, more advanced and has far nicer UI. It’s also far easier to add custom stuff to via plugins or just from modifying the source which I have done a lot. It’s way way easier to develop in UE5 than UE4. While UE5 has a lot of bad stuff, it also has a ton of good stuff
