For the past couple days I have been tinkering with Sigilgraph. As someone with little knowledge in audio production, I have to say it's really fun and mostly intuitive. I can only imagine what more advanced users would be able to do with this.
During my usage, I have been writing down thoughts I had or things I noticed while using the program. Here they are, mostly verbatim:
- Virtually no observed latency.
- Would like a setting to toggle inverted mouse scroll for zooming. for some users (i.e. me), scroll wheel up logically reads as zooming in.
- On first use I was running into instances where lengthening notes in the piano roll was messy, although the issue has seemingly resolved itself over time?
- Piano roll from my testing using the Tyrell N6 plugin resulted in horrible popping sounds and stuck notes, Matrix Arp was fine however. Had similar issues with OB-XD 3.
- When panning the viewport using MMB, the device windows would grab the mouse motion, causing the panning to stop. (I've worked in Godot, so I'm familiar with how fickle UI and mouse input can be, so I understand if its not in the cards)
- Would like a feature where I can open a context menu to add devices to the canvas using RMB. alternatively a key bind to open the menu.
- Would like a feature to spawn a device by clicking empty space with a wire on my cursor.
- Piano roll should default "scrub on click" to Off.
- Would like the ability to increase the amount of banks in note generators such as Matrix Arp.
This was all gathered while using Windows 11 with the following specs:
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4060 8GB
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700x
- RAM: 16GB
I look forward to using Sigilgraph even more, and I am excited for what will come with future updates.
