We have play tested this game with over 20 people during the game jam and the feedback is overwhelmingly positive so far. People kept coming back to playtest the game and said that it was fun, addicting and challenging and therefore me and my team believe that continuing development on this game is the best move for us based on the great first impressions for such as short development time. Some of the feedback we received is:

  • Start countdown on first click rather than instantly to allow players time to think things through.
  • Automatically reset the player rather than having a 'You Lose' menu pop up to restart. This is a challenging game and therefore a quick reset reduces the friction and annoyance for the player.
  • Rotate the first level so that it is easier for the player to see where they are going
  • Add a button to quick restart rather than forcing players to either fall off a ledge or wait for the speed to run out if they know the aren't going to make it to the end this run.
  • Spin on right mouse click as well as left mouse click. I noticed that many players were alternating between pressing the left and right mouse buttons to increase their spinning speed, but at the moment this does nothing.
  • Add more introductory levels to allow players to get a better handle on the controls before throwing complex obstacles at them

For the future development on this project, I will be implementing this feedback. Me and my team also plan to incorporate these features in the future:

  • 100 levels across 10 unique biomes. We managed to create 20 levels across 4 biomes during the game jam. We will also be increasing the number of levels per biome from 5 to 10. Some of the biomes we plan to add are a neon biome, a steampunk biome and an underwater biome. If this game performs well enough we also plan to do updates to add new biomes such as a Halloween or Christmas themed biome
  • We plan to release this game on Steam for a small price tag and we are exploring releasing the game on Android both for free with ads and paid.
  • We want to incorporate leader boards and scores to encourage people to replay for the best times and scores.
  • We want to add a few unlockable cosmetics to the game for taking difficult routes in levels. These rewards will include different spinning tops, hats and trails. This is not an essential feature and therefore we may decide to cut this from the final release.
  • We hope to be able to implement a multiplayer component to this game as we believe that it will be incredibly fun to compete with your friends and knock them off the edge. This is definitely a stretch goal as it might be time consuming and difficult to implement so don't get your hopes up for this making the final release

The current plan is to release this game before the end of the year.

Hi. I was looking at your game and it looks interesting. I'm a music composer and I just made a obby, platformer soundtrack and thought it could fit your game.
